Latinx: What Next?

2021 Annual Conference & Expo
Attendees will learn tips for recruiting, retaining and developing Latinx individuals.

The Latinx population of the U.S. will substantially grow in the coming decades. The U.S. Census Bureau estimates that people who identify as Hispanic or Latinx represented 17.4% of the population in 2014 and that the number will increase to 28.6% by 2060. According to a previously released SHRM publication, the U.S. Labor Bureau predicts that 1 in every 2 workers who enter the workforce in 2025 will idenitfy as Hispanic or Latinx. Companies that actively plan for these changes in demographics will be primed for success. People who identify as Hispanic or Latinx already represent a higher percentage of top candidates, and having them on board will provide businesses with a better understanding of Spanish-speaking markets. But there’s more that goes into recruiting top Latinx Millennials and Generation Z individuals than some might think. Companies will have to create unique recruiting programs—gaining an informed perspective on the changing workforce and the new priorities facing talent leaders.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand Latinx values, needs and personal expectations.
  • Learn what sets Latinx Millennials and Gen Z individuals apart from their peers.
  • Hear three Latinx Millennials and Gen Z individuals share their expectations of employers.
